Description

Barrington Court Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1921-1925 by Forbes and Tate for A.A. Lyle, located within the grounds of Barrington Court. The building features rubble that is coursed and squared, with freestone dressings and a hipped stone-tiled roof, complemented by tall off-ridge rubble stacks. The front of the farmhouse is symmetrical and designed in a Tudor style, consisting of two storeys with three bays. It has a narrow central projecting porch topped with a tall pointed gable. The stone-mullioned windows include five-light windows on the ground floor flanking the porch and three-light windows on the first floor under the eaves, along with a two-light window in the porch's first floor and a breather on the gable face. The door opening features a four-centred arch and a plank floor, and there is a single-storeyed wing at the rear.
