9/175 Walled kitched garden and attached squash court to east of Barrington Court -

GV II

Walled kitchen garden and attached squash court in grounds of Barrington Court. Circa 1921-25 by Forbes and Tate for A.A.Lyle. Garden enclosed by a coursed rubble wall with a pantiled coping. Further rubble wall divides it into 2 halves; to south 2 gateways with elaborate neo-Classical architraves. Two large segmental-headed carriage-openings to north, elaborate paired wrought-iron gates. Squash court to south-east corner with a tiled gambrel roof, rubble walling, hipped-roofed dormers with tiled cheeks, mullioned and transomed windows.
