Description
The walled kitchen garden and attached squash court, located to the east of Barrington Court, were built around 1921-1925 by Forbes and Tate for A.A. Lyle. The garden is enclosed by a coursed rubble wall topped with pantiled coping. Inside, a further rubble wall divides the garden into two halves, with two gateways featuring elaborate neo-Classical architraves on the south side. To the north, there are two large segmental-headed carriage openings with paired wrought-iron gates. The squash court is situated in the south-east corner and features a tiled gambrel roof, rubble walling, hipped-roofed dormers with tiled cheeks, and windows with mullions and transoms.
