Description
Taddington Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century and early to mid 20th century. The front features well-squared, coursed stone, while the other sides are made of coursed, squared rubble, topped with a stone slate roof. The building has an 'L' plan layout with a four-window front, one room deep, and a two-and-a-half-storey rear wing.
The garden front, which faces away from the farmyard, has a plinth and double doors that are each made up of three panels, surrounded by a moulded frame and topped with a stone lintel and a flat porch head supported by acanthus console brackets. There is one two-light mullioned window on each side of the doors, with a taller two-light casement window beyond, all of which are 20th-century metal windows featuring deep stone lintels. Above, there is a plain string course, and on the first floor, there are four two-light 20th-century metal casements in their original openings. The gables are parapeted, with an ashlar chimney on the left featuring a moulded cap, and a similar chimney located one bay from the right. The right end has a cross-gablet apex. The farmhouse forms a group with nearby barns.
