Description

The icehouse at Lower Coscombe is a Grade II listed structure, likely built in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed, roughly squared stone and features an earth roof. The building is a square room set into the side of a bank. On the entrance front, there is a stone wall with a doorway on the left, which has rebated sides and a stone lintel; however, the door has been missing since 1986. The bank on the left side has earth and plants growing on top. Inside, the icehouse has a vaulted stone interior.
