Description

The Manor House is a farmhouse built in the early 18th century, with alterations and additions from the 19th century. It features coursed limestone rubble and brick construction, with ashlar quoins and a pantile roof that has stone coped gables, a brick gable, and one ridge stack. The front of the house is three storeys high, with the original two storeys made of coursed limestone rubble up to a stone band, and a top storey added in brick during the 19th century.

The building has a T-plan layout and a five-bay front. The main entrance, located off-centre to the right, consists of a four-panelled door with an overlight, flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. To the left of the entrance is a six-panelled door and another glazing bar sash window. All ground floor openings are topped with timber lintels. On the upper floors, there are three glazing bar sash windows with segmental heads and splayed stone lintels. The added top storey includes three two-light glazing bar Yorkshire sash windows, also with segmental heads.

To the left of the main house is a two-storey dairy wing, constructed of coursed limestone rubble on the ground floor and brick above, featuring a single two-light glazing bar Yorkshire sash window. The rear of the building is entirely in brickwork and includes a projecting gabled stair wing. Inside, the house has some simply chamfered and stopped beams.
