Description
Manor House is a farmhouse built in the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It features coursed limestone rubble and brick construction, topped with a pantile roof that has brick coped tumbled gable stacks. The building is designed in an L-shape and stands two stories high with a garret. The front has three bays, showcasing brick bands on the first and second floors, along with a dentillated brick eaves course.
The entrance is off-center, featuring a half-glazed door with a flat hood, flanked by plain sash windows. Above the door are three similar windows, all equipped with flat brick rubbed lintels and ashlar keyblocks. The gable ends are made of coursed limestone rubble up to the first floor, and the rear wing is also constructed from stone.
Inside, the early 18th-century staircase has two flights, adorned with turned balusters that have knops and a moulded handrail. The doors throughout the house are six-panelled, with panelled reveals and deep architraves. The first floor contains some contemporary cupboards that have left-hand hinges and panelled doors. The staggered butt purlin roof features 18th-century timbers, some of which have been reused.
