Description
The Village Hall, originally a school, was built in 1846. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with grey brick dressings and features a slate roof. The building is single storey with a four-bay front, which includes four two-light windows that have trefoil-headed lights beneath flat brick heads, with brick reveals and hoods. On this facade, there are two early 20th-century tin plaques; one from the Automobile Association indicating the distances from Northorpe to Gainsborough, London, and Brigg, and the other related to the County Library. In the right-hand gable, there is a three-light geometric window with a plaque above it commemorating the National School, dated 1846. The building is listed for its group value only.
