Description

MUCHELNEY CP - ST42SW 8/209 Stuckey Monument in churchyard, 6 metres north north-west of porch, - Church of SS Peter and Paul GV II

Chest Tomb. C18. Ham stone. Moulded base; fielded panel pilasters to flanks only, with single fielded panel each end and flank; moulded coving to shallow hipped top. Commemorates Henrietta Stuckey, died 1766 aged 5, and her father John died 1771 - some panels recut in C19. The Stuckey family were bankers and merchants in Langport.
