Description

Drum Cottages are two cottages dating from the 17th century, constructed from Doulting and local limestone rubble with thatched roofs. They feature uneven height eaves and have four brick stacks. The cottages are arranged in an "L" plan, creating a picturesque appearance. They are one storey with an attic; the left side has three bays with casement windows, and a virtually central door opening leads to a plank door. The right side has one bay in the gable with similar casements, and a door opening set back to the right under a catslide roof, also leading to a plank door. The ground floor room on the left includes an open fireplace with a passive wooden lintel and stop-chamfered beams to the ceiling.
