Description

Tynts Hill House is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the 20th century. It is constructed with rendered walls, stone slate and tile roofs, and rubble and brick stacks. The house has a “T” shape. The front elevation features two storeys and one bay projecting with a gabled wing. The left bay has concrete stone mullioned windows of four lights on the upper floor, below a canted bay with a flat roof and sash windows. The remaining three bays have ovolo moulded stone mullioned windows of three and four lights on the upper floor, and a pair of French windows with flanking lights in a chamfered stone surround with a label. A door opening in a chamfered stone surround has a late 19th-century half-glazed door; a projecting pent-roofed porch is supported by wooden brackets and has a stone tile roof, incorporating a further glazed door opening to the right. The left return elevation, which is five bays wide, has predominantly two and three-light stone mullioned windows with labels.
