Description
Melcombe is a house dating from the late 18th century. It features a façade rendered to resemble blockwork, with coped verges, brick end stacks, and a stone tile roof. The building is symmetrical, standing two storeys high with three bays. It has paired 12-pane sash windows and a single central window on the first floor that has a semi-circular head with Gothic glazing. The central door opening is framed by a bead-moulded stone surround and contains a six-panelled door, with the top two panels glazed. Above the door is a curved wooden hood supported by cut stone brackets. To the left side, there is a lower-height outshut with a hay loft opening on the first floor, featuring a plank door, and below it is another door opening, also with a plank door.
