Description
The Pike family chest tomb, located in the churchyard 5 metres north of the chancel of the Church of St Lawrence, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and sits on a moulded plinth. The tomb features corner pilasters adorned with floral decoration and a central pilaster on the north and south sides that separates dedicatory inscriptions, the earliest of which is for William Pike, dated 1818. Additional details include a fluted frieze, a moulded cornice, and a slightly hipped slab top.
