Description

Clay Lane House is an early 19th-century house constructed of coursed rubble. It features four stone brackets at the eaves and a triple-Roman tile roof with end brick ridge stacks. The building has a symmetrical frontage, consisting of two storeys and two bays. The first floor has 12-pane sash windows with plain stone surrounds, while the ground floor has 16-pane sash windows in similar surrounds. The central door opening is also framed in a plain stone surround and contains a six-panelled door, with the top two panels being glazed. Above the door is a fluted slab stone hood supported by cut stone brackets. To the right, there is a hipped roof outshut covered with pantiles.
