Description

The Old Rectory is an early 19th-century former rectory, now a house. It is constructed of ashlar, with a hipped slate roof and a central ashlar stack topped with a moulded cap. The building has a symmetrical facade. It is two storeys high and originally comprised two bays. It has sash windows with glazing bars; those on the ground floor have additional marginal lights and moulded cornice dripmoulds resting on fluted consoles. A plain stone band runs along the level of the first floor. The left return of the building originally had two bays with one bay added later, with sash windows in plain stone surrounds and glazing bars. A late 19th-century canted ashlar bay with a flat roof has been added to the ground floor, along with a door opening to the left, leading to a six-panelled door with glazed upper panels.
