Description
ST5015 ODCOMBE CP LOWER ODCOMBE (East side) 10/250 No 17 (Old Dairy House), and front boundary railings - GV II Semi-detached house. C18. Ham stone ashlar; plain clay tiled roof between coped gables; brick end chimney stacks. Two storeys, 4 bays. Plinth, eaves course, mullioned windows, slightly chamfered in simple architraves with horizontal bar casements inserted, 3-light to outer bays and bay-2, 2-light to upper bay 3: to lower bay 3 a boarded door in architraved surround with hood mould over. Attached to south gable a 2 bay extension set lower, with plain gable; small pane casement lower bay 1 and 2 horizontal bar casement above, all 2-light: south gable rebuilt. Interior not seen. About 600 mm west of main house are cast iron railing panels set on low stone walling, with returns at each corner and front door, the panels having curl decorations and sawtooth tops, no gate; all contributing to setting of house.
