Description
Mason's Arms Inn is an inn that likely dates back to the 17th century and has been modified over time. It is constructed from ham stone coursed rubble, with some cut and squared work, and features a thatched roof between coped gables and yellow brick chimney stacks. The building is single-storey with an attic and consists of four bays.
The windows are casement style with horizontal bars; above, there are two-light windows set into swept thatched dormers. The first and third bays have three-light windows, with the first bay featuring a stone label and the third bay having a chamfered timber lintel. To the left of the second bay, there is a two-light window under a timber lintel, and to the right, a boarded door in a very heavy frame, set in a deep recess under a timber lintel. The fourth bay has timber garage doors.
There have been several alterations to the stonework on the front elevation, and the north gable has been rebuilt in brick with ashlar quoins. The interior has not been seen.
