Description
No. 19 Lower Odcombe is a cottage that is part of a row, likely built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from cut and squared Ham stone, with a colourwashed bay at the front and ashlar dressings. The roof is plain clay tiles with stone slate base courses between the abutments, and there is a central brick chimney stack. The cottage has two storeys and two bays. The windows are plain mullioned, with a three-light window in bay 1 featuring small-pane casements, and a two-light horizontal bar casement in the upper part of bay 2. To the left of bay 1, there is a boarded door in a plain opening, which is sheltered by a concrete hood supported by wrought-iron brackets. Bay 2 features a large segmental archway with a pair of boarded doors, which has been partly adapted for a 20th-century garage door, along with a side door. The interior has not been seen. This building is included mainly for its group value within the varied and interesting row of cottages.
