Description

A row of four cottages, likely originally five, was probably built in the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of coursed ham stone rubble with ashlar dressings, topped with a plain clay tiled roof at a shallow pitch, punctuated by stepped coped gables, and featuring brick chimney stacks. There are two storeys and six bays in total. The windows are plain mullioned, with a two-light window over a three-light window, although the vertical alignment differs between floors. A 20th-century garage door is present in the lower bay of the first cottage, and an inserted three-light steel casement window is situated to the left of the third bay, covered by a timber lintel. Plain ashlar surrounds define the doorways located to the right of bays three and five, and to the left of bays four and six. The doors to numbers 22 and 24 are boarded and set within deep reveals, while the other doorways have been fitted with later 20th-century stable doors. There are three steps leading up to each entrance. The interiors remain unexamined.
