OAKE CP HEATHFIELD Rectory Lodge and wall box

(previously listed under Norton Fitzwarren CP)

II Lodge to Heathfield Rectory (qv). Circa 1860. Probably by Edward Jeboult. Squared and coursed local stone Ham stone quoins and dressings, patterned clay tiles, decorative bargeboards, octagonal stacks left gable end and centre of right cross gable. T-plan.

Single storey, two-light casement left of entrance, right gable of cross wing three-light pointed arch wooden mullions in pyramid roofed canted bay, patterned clay tiles, trefoil in gable end, bell cast patterned clay tile gabled porch, decorative wooden supports on stone plinth, half glazed door. Right return, single-light window left, gabled top to mullioned and transomed window right.

Relatively unaltered lodge in same style as nearby Rectory. Wallbox, C19, sited in cross gable end.
