Description

Rectory Lodge and wall box is a lodge to Heathfield Rectory, built around 1860, likely by Edward Jeboult. The building features squared and coursed local stone with Ham stone quoins and dressings, patterned clay tiles, decorative bargeboards, and octagonal stacks on the left gable end and at the center of the right cross gable. It has a T-plan layout.

The lodge is a single storey with a two-light casement window to the left of the entrance. The right gable of the cross wing has a three-light pointed arch window with wooden mullions in a pyramid-roofed canted bay, adorned with patterned clay tiles and a trefoil in the gable end. The entrance includes a bell cast patterned clay tile gabled porch supported by decorative wooden brackets on a stone plinth, leading to a half-glazed door. On the right return, there is a single-light window on the left and a gabled top to a mullioned and transomed window on the right.

The lodge remains relatively unaltered and is styled similarly to the nearby Rectory. The wall box, dating from the 19th century, is located in the cross gable end.
