Description
Tile Kiln Wood Lodge is a lodge built around 1860, constructed from ashlar stone with slightly projecting quoins. It features a decorative tiled roof adorned with four pairs of Tudor style ashlar stacks and decorative bargeboards, each topped with a single finial and pendant. The lodge is set on a plinth and consists of two storeys with three bays.
The central bay projects on the first floor and is supported by cast iron columns of an arcaded porch, which has a single segmental central arch flanked by pointed arches. Above the porch is a cast iron modillion cornice. The central doorway has a panelled door with a chamfered stone surround, flanked by single projecting windows that each feature tripartite stone transoms and mullion glazing bar casements.
On the first floor, there are three smaller casements, with the central one having a Tudor style hood mould. The outer two casements break into the eaves and are gabled, also featuring bargeboards, finials, and pendants. Each gable has a single similar bay and a single similar casement above. The rear of the lodge mirrors the front, but the door is double and part glazed with glazing bars. All windows have stone surrounds, and those on the first floor include feature voussoirs.
