Description
The outbuilding, cartshed, and barn at Collingthwaite Farm date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from dressed coursed rubble and red brick, with a corrugated roof covering all sections except for the barn, which has a pantile roof. The two-storey cartshed features four brick arches supported by stone imposts. To the right, the outbuilding includes a doorway, a single small casement window, another doorway, and two small casement windows. Above these, there is a single slatted opening with a glazing bar overlight, a doorway, another similar slatted opening, a blocked opening, a doorway, and a single glazing bar casement window. All openings have lintels, except for the first-floor doorways, and all doorways are fitted with wooden doors.
To the left, the barn has a slightly projecting gable and is two and a half storeys tall. It features a first-floor blocked opening with a lintel and seven slit ventilators. The main facade of the barn has a large archway with a keystone, a flush ashlar quoin surround, and a 20th-century wooden door. To the left of this archway is a doorway, with three additional doorways above, all fitted with wooden doors. There are also 15 slit ventilators on the barn. A lean-to is located to the left of the barn. This structure is included in the listing for its group value.
