Description

This is an unidentified chest tomb located about 4 meters south of the nave of the Church of St. Edward King and Martyr in Goathurst. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of dressed stone. The tomb has an oblong shape and rests on a moulded plinth. Each face features a raised panel with a moulded edge, and the west side displays emblems of death. The inscriptions on the tomb are largely decayed. The top is a hipped slab that is moulded around its lower edge.
