Description
The monument to John Dowie is located in the churchyard about 3 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St Andrew in Puckington village. This large chest tomb commemorates John Dowie, who passed away in 1720. It is made of dressed stone and features an oblong chest set on a moulded plinth. The tomb has corner and intermediate pilasters that are decorated with carved enrichment and fluting. There are two inscription panels on the south side, and the top is a hipped slab that is moulded around the lower edge. An achievement is located at the west end of the tomb.
