Description
The Doidge chest tomb, located about 3 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St Andrew, is an early 18th-century structure. It is made of stone rubble and features an inscribed stone lid. This low rectangular chest commemorates Thomas Doidge, who died in 1733, as well as other members of the Doidge family. The tomb includes an inscription on the border, a verse, and additional text within the border, all of which display good lettering.
