Description

The Hignett Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 5 metres west-northwest of the porch of the Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. It dates from the 17th century and is made of hall stone. The monument features a heavy moulded base on a step, with plain sides and ends, and a deep cyma recta coving leading to a heavy flat top. It commemorates Joseph Hignett, who died in 1639.
