Description

The Hignett Memorial, located approximately 2 meters south of the porch of the Church of St. Mary in Hordley, is a table tomb dating from around 1772. It is made of sandstone and has a rectangular shape. The top ledger is supported by rectangular slabs at the ends and square blocks in the center. The memorial features a long inscription that commemorates the children of Joseph and Mary Hignett, with the first child having died in 1772.
