Description
This is an 18th-century chest tomb located about 4 meters southeast of the porch of the Church of St Thomas of Canterbury in Lovington village. It is made of Doulting and Keinton stone and features a moulded plinth on a slab base. The ends and flanks are plain with an incised slab that has significantly eroded over time. The tomb has a plain frieze and moulded coving leading to a shallow hipped top. Most of the inscriptions have been lost, but the west end mentions Joyce Tid----, who possibly died in 1780.
