Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with dressed quoins and has a tiled roof featuring two gables on the front. The building has rubble stacks, including one pair and one group of three. It follows a lateral fireplace plan and consists of two storeys and attics, with three bays and windows that are 2, 3, and 4-light stone-mullioned with chamfered edges.
The central door opening is framed by a moulded and stopped stone surround, leading to a 19th-century half-glazed door topped with a tiled hood. To the left, there is a two-storey wing that is lower in height, featuring 3 and 4-light ogee-moulded stone-mullioned windows beneath stopped labels. This wing also has a door opening in a moulded semi-circular headed stone surround, with a 19th-century four-panelled door.
Inside, the left ground floor room includes a broad fireplace with a 4-centred head stone surround and plain but massive ceiling beams. The door openings to the first and second floors are in ovolo-moulded wooden surrounds. The farmhouse retains particularly good examples of 17th-century interior features, which are in a very fine state of preservation.
