Description
Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century. It features rubble walls with stone and brick quoins, and has stone-coped gables with small square terminations at the apex. The roof is slate, and there are two 20th-century brick stacks at the ridge. The building is two storeys high and has four windows, which include stone mullions with ovolo-moulds and labels on the ground floor. The windows have small leaded lights. There is a wide doorway with moulded stone jambs, imposts with paterae, and a moulded round arch (which has been renewed) with an embossed key and label above. The south wing was originally a barn, indicated by straight joints with rubble and brick filling. There are four blue lias steps leading up to the front door. Additionally, there is a dated extension from 1939 to the west, designed in the style of the 17th century.
