Description

The building at 41-43 Catherine Street dates to the 1830s and is comprised of three storeys. It is constructed of painted ashlar, with number 43 rendered. A cornice and parapet run along the top, with a ramped section between numbers 41 and 42. Number 41 is slightly set forward and features a pier to the left. Number 42 is slightly set forward of number 43. The frontages originally contained two windows each for numbers 41 and 42, and two for number 43, although number 42 actually has three windows, while number 43 has only one. The shop windows are early 20th century replacements. Number 42 has a plain doorway, and number 43 has brackets supporting a flat hood over its entrance. Number 43 has ground floor quoins and a first floor cill string. A side entrance is located on the return, featuring brackets supporting a flat hood.
