Description

The lamp post outside No. 23 on High Street was built between 1901 and 1904 by the art-metal firm of Singers. It features a cast-iron standard with a crook designed to suspend a lamp, which is adorned with art-nouveau ornamentation. This lamp post has been adapted for town lighting and is an early example of electrification.
