Description
Number 21 on Wine Street is a building dating from around 1730 to 1750. It is constructed of stone and features rusticated quoins, with a roof primarily covered in pantiles. The building has 2½ storeys and a cellar, and it is adorned with five sash windows that have glazing bars set within moulded architraves. The central doorway has a broken pediment, although a later porch has been added in front. The door itself is an eight-panel design, with the upper two panels being glazed, and there are iron railings present.
Inside, the left-hand room on the ground floor is panelled and includes an 18th-century fireplace with a mid-Victorian grate. There is an early 18th-century staircase featuring turned balusters and a heavy moulded handrail. The rear of the building is gabled and has mullion windows.
