Description

Mohun's Park is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 17th century, with modifications from the 18th century and later. It is constructed from locally sourced stone in coursed rubble and features a double Roman clay tiled roof with simple gables and brick chimney stacks. Originally probably in a 'T' plan, the building now has an additional wing extending southwards.

The farmhouse is two stories high with a five-bay south elevation. The first bay serves as a farm building with an added lean-to. The second bay features a gabled projection with a small-pane casement window below and a 16-pane sash window above, along with a small 17th-century two-light timber casement with vertical iron bars on the return. The third bay has a boarded door in a heavy frame below and a three-light 18th-century style leaded casement window above. The fourth bay is a later projecting gable with a 16-pane sash window, while the fifth bay includes a three-light small-pane casement below and an 18-pane horizontal sliding sash window above.

The rear elevation has an undulating plain clay tile roof and one leaded casement window. Inside, there are traces of an early fireplace and at least one 17th-century door, along with several chamfered beams, one of which has unusual diamond stops. The de Mohun family is known for building Dunster Castle, but there is no known connection to this property.
