Description
Orchard Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with some 19th century features and minor alterations from the 20th century. It is built of coursed, squared stone and has a stone slate roof. The building has three bays and is two stories high, with one room depth. There is a single bay, one and a half story addition at the right end.
All the windows are mullioned and feature leaded lights and hoodmoulds. On the ground floor, there are three and four-light windows, along with a late 20th century boarded door that is accessed by one stone step, topped by a Tudor arch in a deep stone lintel with a hoodmould. To the right, there is a four-light window with a king mullion. On the upper floor, there are three three-light windows. The house has gable chimneys on the ridge, which have moulded caps, and a third chimney is located to the left of the door. The extension at the right end is set forward slightly and features a hipped dormer with a two-light casement and a half-hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
