Description

Little Warrens is a former farmhouse, now a house, built in 1615 for MRIW, as indicated by the datestone. It underwent alterations in the 1920s by and for Sir P. Stott. The building features roughly squared, coursed stone on the left side and better squared stone on the right, topped with a stone-slate roof. It is a five-bay structure, one room deep, and one and a half storeys high, with a later rear wing.

Facing the road, all windows are mullioned and fitted with leaded lights and hoodmoulds. On the ground floor to the left, there is a four-light window with a plain chamfer, and a similar window with a hollow chamfer above a datestone. To the right, there is a change in stonework, along with a boarded door set in a heavy timber frame, accessed by four stone steps. To the right of the door, there is a plinth with two two-light windows and one three-light window. Above, five windows rise into gabled stone dormers: a three-light window on the left end, a two-light window with a hollow chamfer, and three two-light windows with plain chamfers. The building has ashlar chimneys on the left end with a moulded cap, and another chimney to the left of the front door, which has an old brick top. The interior has not been inspected.
