Description

Nos 10 and 11 on High Street are two semi-detached cottages dating from the 17th century, though they have been significantly altered and enlarged in the 20th century. The cottages are built from roughly squared, coursed stone and feature stone slate roofs. They are arranged in three bays, one room deep, and are one storey high, with two of the bays partly or wholly in the roof. There is a single-bay extension at one end.

The gable facing the road has a three-light mullion window on the ground floor, two two-light windows on the first floor, and one second-floor window, all of which have hoodmoulds. The gable has a parapet and a cross-gablet apex. On the right side, there are two two-light mullioned windows with hoodmoulds, one of which is a later 20th-century addition. There is also a boarded door set under a Tudor arch, a slit window, a similar door, and a three-light mullioned window with a hoodmould.

The wall extends upwards into two gabled dormers, each featuring two-light mullioned windows. Above, there are three gabled dormers with two-light casement windows. The right end has a parapet gable and a ridge chimney with a moulded cap. Slightly set back beyond the main structure is a lower wing that includes a two-light mullioned window and a gabled dormer with a two-light casement window, along with a ridge chimney. An arched wing at the back is included with Nos 7 to 9.
