Description
This is a detached house located about 20 meters north-west of the Old Manor House in Chillington Village. It likely dates from the 17th century but has been significantly extended in the 20th century. The building is constructed from local stone, which has been rendered and colorwashed, with some ashlar dressings. It features double Roman clay tiled roofs between high coped gables that suggest it may have originally had a thatched roof. There are end chimney stacks, with the eastern stack made of ashlar slabs and the western stack made of brick. The house consists of two distinct halves, each with two storeys and two bays. The first bay has hollow-chamfered mullioned windows with three lights, the lower window having a label, while the other windows are 20th-century steel framed but all are rectangular and leaded. There are further extensions at the rear, which include an entrance that is partly a lean-to and partly has a flat roof. The interior has not been seen.
