Description
Manor House and Rose Cottage are two dwellings that were originally a single house built in the 17th century, with early 19th-century additions and alterations. The building is constructed of coursed, dressed stone and features stone slate roofs. The 17th-century section is situated on sloping ground, presenting a gable end to the road, with three storeys on the south side and two storeys on the north side. The gable front includes a five-light double-chamfered mullion and transom window on each floor, although the ground-floor transoms have been removed. There are drip moulds on each floor that return into the gable, which also has shaped kneelers with finials, though the gable finial has been removed.
The right side of the building has double-chamfered mullion windows, some of which are transomed and feature hood moulds. A corniced ridge stack is present as well. To the right, there is a single-storey extension that includes a doorway with a decorated lintel on the left, a three-light mullioned window, and an end stack on the right. On the left, Rose Cottage is a two-storey, one-bay block with a door on the right under a stone lintel, a two-light flat-faced mullion window on each floor, and an end stack on the left.
