Description
A house and two cottages, now divided into five dwellings, likely dating back to 1666, although possibly incorporating older materials. The building was significantly altered in the early 19th century. It is constructed of large squared stones with a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and originally three bays wide, with additional bays added on the left (number 26) and right (number 18). A datestone inscribed 'W M 1666' suggests an early origin. The central portion has a prominent plinth. An original gabled porch is located at number 22. The other doorways date to the 19th century and have simple stone surrounds. The original windows are double-chamfered mullion windows with 2, 3, or 4 lights, and a continuous hoodmould over each floor. The left and right bays have flat-faced mullion windows and corniced stacks. Coping is visible on the left side. Numbers 18 and 26 are included in the listing for group value.
