Description

The building is a temple with an ice house underneath, located about 110 metres northeast of Halswell House. It dates from the 18th century and is constructed of dressed stone, featuring a circular plan. The structure has a plinth made of three stone steps and stone setts. It is supported by a colonnade of eight Roman Doric columns and has a triglyph frieze adorned with bucranium and medallions. The roof is domed and originally covered with lead sheeting, which was removed at the time of the last survey in February 1985.
