Description

The Manor House, along with its gates and gate piers, dates from around 1720. It features a plastered facade with raised quoins and dressings, a moulded and coved eaves cornice, and a flat hipped roof made of Bridgwater tiles with a pronounced bell-cast. This classical building stands two stories high and has five bays, with glazing bar sash windows set in architraves on brackets, bull-nose cills, and aprons beneath the ground floor windows, which are flanked by panelled side piers. The windows have alternating triangular and segmental pediments with pulvinated friezes above them. The central door opening is framed in an architrave and topped with a broken pediment on brackets; it features a 20th-century ledged door with a transom light above. To the right, there is a return with four bays, while the left side is blind, with the windows arranged in two groups of two within raised surrounds that continue as vertical panelling. The ashlar gatepiers to the left have moulded cappings and are accompanied by wrought iron gates. The building is marked as Manor House on the Ordnance Survey map.
