Description
The monument to the Savidge family is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of St Mary, approximately 40 metres north of the chancel. The earliest inscription is for Jane Savidge, dating from 1758, although the chest was likely erected following the death of her father, George Savidge, in 1768. The tomb is made of dressed stone and features a moulded plinth, corner urn pilasters, and a hipped slab top that is moulded around its lower edge. All inscriptions are located on the southern panel, while the western panel was missing at the time of the last survey in May 1984.
