Description

The monument to the Swadell family is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 10 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St Peter. It dates from the 18th century and features an oblong dressed stone chest resting on a significantly decayed plinth. The tomb has fluted corner pilasters and a central pilaster on both the north and south sides. The top is a hipped slab, which is moulded around its lower edge. The earliest inscription on the tomb dates back to 1659 and commemorates a reinterment. There are inscriptions on all sides of the monument.
