Description
This building is a house located opposite the George Hotel, featuring early 19th century characteristics but with an earlier core. It is constructed of random rubble with a dressed stone plinth and has a coping along the frontage topped with a parapet. The right corner is rounded, and it has coped verges. The roof is made of concrete tiles with a bell-cast profile, and there are rubble end stacks along with a further brick stack rising from the right corner of the frontage.
The house is two storeys high and has two bays. The windows include three-light casements on the first floor, each with a horizontal glazing bar and cambered head reveals, supported by brick voussoirs. To the left of the ground floor, there is a 12-pane sash window set in a plaster surround. On the right side of the ground floor, there is a mid-19th century shop front featuring a recessed entrance with three-quarter glazed doors adorned with decorative glazing bars, flanked by 6-pane casements. Each side of the door opening has narrow panelled pilasters, with a turned section at the base, and the overall façade is finished with a narrow moulded cornice.
To the left of the frontage, there is a mounting block with three stone steps. Additionally, there is a two-storey outshut to the left, which has a parapet with coping, two three-light casements with glazing bars on the first floor, and a broad door opening on the ground floor with paired plank doors.
