Description
No 37 on Fore Street is a building that has been divided into three properties. It was originally occupied by a member of the Were family. The building features a uniform early 18th century stucco front, although it has been altered. It is two storeys high and has long and short quoins. The parapet has outer ends that are swept up, and the roof is slate. There are five windows, which are sashes without glazing bars. A central Tuscan porch leads to a four-panel door, with modern doors on the sides. Inside, it is said to have one very good panelled room that includes shell and foliage carving on the chimneypiece. No 35 and No 37 are part of a group.
