STRINGSTON CP FAIRFIELD Walls enclosing gardens, about 20 metres west of Fairfield House

GV II Walls enclosing garden. Dated 1778, perhaps enlarged early C19. Blue lias random rubble, pantile coping, about 2.5 metres high, enclosing rectangle, pointed arch openings. Stone in northeast corner inscribed IW 1778 WS perhaps inserted by the masons. Wall enclosing narrower rectangle to north, blue lias random rubble exterior, lined with garden wall bond brick, pantile coping. Exterior north wall of later date to southern one, but possibly a C19 renewal of existing wall.
