Description
Water Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the 17th century, 19th century, and mid-20th century. The building is rendered over rubble and features concrete tiles, with a hipped east wing and brick stacks located at the center and to the right, as well as in a single-storey addition on the right (west). The layout consists of three cells and a cross passage, with a gable end facing the road, a single cell east wing, and a kitchen addition to the west. The farmhouse is one and a half storeys high and has a 1:4 bay configuration. It includes gabled two-light dormer casements with decorative bargeboards, a three-light casement window in the wing, and four- and two-light flanking French windows with a half-glazed door to the left, which is approached by a 4 x 4 bay concrete tiled verandah supported by wooden columns, forming a covered entrance from the road. There is a bread oven projection in the west addition. Inside, the farmhouse features chamfered beads with step and run-out stops, a chamfered lintel and jambs to the hall fireplace, and evidence of a spiral stair.
