Description
Little Water Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century and mid 20th century. The building is roughcast over rubble and features a slate roof, with a rendered stack to the left of the cross passage and brick stacks at the gable ends. The structure consists of three cells and a cross passage, which has been modified; the right wall of the cross passage has been moved, and a straight stair has been inserted. There are outshots at the rear and left return, and the building is set gable end onto the road.
It stands two storeys high and has four bays. The first floor has 20th-century wooden casements, while the ground floor features three-light casements. The entrance is located in the second bay on the right and has a 20th-century plank door. Inside, there are two exposed jointed crucks, and a recess on the rear wall of the first floor may indicate a demolished stair turret. The ground floor has a four-panel compartment ceiling with hollow chamfered beams, which is bisected by a rear corridor wall.
