Description

The bridge and walling of the bank of the former canal for the Dorset and Somerset Canal date from the late 18th century, with the bridge restored in the 20th century. The bridge is constructed of rubble and features two low segmental archways with stone voussoirs and a cutwater on the west side. There are rubble parapets on each side topped with rough rubble coping. The rubble wall, which acts as a retaining wall for the bank of the former canal, is approximately 2 meters high and extends 140 meters to the west.
