Description

The former canal bridge, built between 1801 and 1802 for the Dorset and Somerset Canal, is located at NGR ST 6687 4880. Constructed from coursed and squared rubble, it features an elliptical ashlar arch that is 4.5 meters wide and 1.5 meters high. The canal was authorized by an Act of Parliament in 1796, and this bridge carried the road from Edford to Stratton Common.
